Hermantown’s Wellness Center To Break Ground In 2018

HERMANTOWN, Minn. – Plans for Hermantown’s new wellness center are getting closer to breaking ground.

Hermantown city officials say the design phase should wrap up by the end of October with construction in 2018 and completion by June of 2019.

The wellness center, which is a partnership with Essentia Health and the YMCA, will act as a center of the community when all is done.

“Being more healthy, being more active. But also being together and relying on each other in that social capacity as well,” said John Mulder, city administrator.

The city says the project is just a bit behind schedule because the $8 million in bonding money from the state came a year later than expected.
