First Annual Bridge Days Community Walk Held in Virginia
Hundreds took a walk over the newly opened bridge
VIRGINIA, Minn. – Hundreds gathered in Virginia to take a walk over the newly constructed bridge there. It was the first annual Bridge Days Community Walk. People of all ages took the hike over to the bridge to get a look at some of the views the unique structure has to offer.
“It is truly an amazing structure,” volunteer organizer Ardy Nurmi-Wilberg said. “Two-hundred and five feet above the water surface. It’s one of the tallest bridges in Minnesota. It’s just going to be a real draw.”
Construction on that bridge began two years ago, and was completed this September. The total cost of the project was around $156 million.
