Grand Portage Woman Arrested for Arson

GRAND PORTAGE, Minn. – Authorities responded to the report of a structure fire on Townsite Road in Grand Portage at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, according to the Cook County Sheriff.

Crews from Grand Portage and Hovland Fire Department joined Cook County Deputies in responding to the call. The fire destroyed the home, no further details on the fire were released.

The Minnesota State Fire Marshal conducted an investigation into the fire, which was determined to be arson.

Forty-six-year-old Lori Dahmen, of Grand Portage, was one of the two occupants in the home at the time of the fire. She was arrested and charged in Cook County Court Wednesday for arson.

The incident remains under investigation.
