Duluth Chamber of Commerce Holds Event Centered on Women’s Leadership

DULUTH, Minn. —

The Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce is empowering women with a special event at Clyde Iron Works.

Business leaders and entrepreneurs from the Duluth area watch as a series of speakers give talks about female leadership.

It’s part of a simulcast that will be viewed by nearly 100,000 people.

“We decided to jump on the opportunity to bring it to our community, knowing that we have so many women entrepreneurs, business leaders, chamber members in general that are actively engaged in growing businesses in our community,” said Kathleen Privette, the Duluth Area Chamber’s Director of Events and Retention.

More than 100 people signed up to attend Duluth’s event.

The audience is mostly women and each talk is centered on the theme of being “Powered by Purpose.”

“The ‘woman’s movement’ is such an important piece in our community right now and in our world that maybe we should tie it in a little bit more and get more specific with the woman leaders,” Privette said.

Leadercast Women is the first event of its kind, but it is part of a series called “Leadercast Live.”

Duluth has participated in Leadercast Live for 12 years now.
