Help the Homeless Next Week

"Keep Everyone Warm" Drive to be Held Wednesday

DULUTH, Minn.-With the chilly air ready to hit the Northland, the local homeless need your help.

The first ever “Keep Everyone Warm” drive will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Duluth Dodge.

They will be collecting a variety of items there including tents, tarps, sleeping bags, canned foods, hygiene products, and of course cash donations.

“This time of the year, you always think about the people that are less fortunate and the other day when I turned on my furnace for the first time this year, it’s easy for me to get warm,” said Mike Letica, the event’s organizer. “All I have to do is turn on my furnace, but it reminded myself of the homeless. They don’t have a place – they just can’t turn on a furnace.”

Most of the donations collected will go to CHUM.

There will also be drop off sites in the community including: Gary Milk House, Big Daddy’s Burgers, AJ’s Tanning, and Great Clips.
