Popular Homecoming Activity Has CSS Students Stuffing Bears
DULUTH, Minn. —
Homecoming week is in full swing at the college of St. Scholastica – and the students had one of the most popular events earlier this morning.
They call it “stuff a bear,” and students line up early to stuff teddy bears in the student union.
The campus activity board provides all the materials, and it’s first come first served.
This is the third year they’ve done this event, and organizers say it’s a big hit with the students.
“Honestly I think it taps into the child in all of us,” said Campus Activities Board Co-President Megan Peterson. “[As] college students, we’re just super excited to get a bear. It’s like Build-a Bear but our own version of it. So I think people are just really excited. In the start of it they wanted just something new and refreshing for Homecoming Week. But it was so popular the first year that we decided to keep bringing it back.”
Homecoming week at CSS will culminate in soccer games against Martin Luther College and a football game versus the Iowa Wesleyan Tigers.
