Lake Superior Research Institute Celebrates 50 Years
Breakfast to be Held Tomorrow for Event
SUPERIOR, Wis.-Keeping our waters clean has always been a goal of the Lake Superior Research Institute.
Today, all that hard work was celebrated at a conference that looked back on what they’ve done in the past 50 years.
The goal of the program is to do a variety of types of work on our waters including investigating environmental issues related to chemicals and invasive species.
“Our research is to understand the behavior of the Lake Superior toxicity [and] the pollution,” said Matt TenEyck, LSRI director. “Trying to keep our water clean is extremely important because it’s a limited resource.”
Festivities continue on tomorrow with a breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. at UWS.
