Habitatitude Event Re-Homes Unwanted Fish and Reptiles

DULUTH, Minn. – The University of Minnesota’s Sea Grant Program held a “Habitatitude” event at Animal Allies in Duluth today.

People with unwanted fish, reptiles, and plants could bring them in and the animals would be taken free of charge.

The event was held so people don’t release their animals into the wild where they can damage the environment.

“We’ve had one red ear slider, a bristle nosed catfish, a freshwater shrimp, as well as a goldfish that has been turned in thus far today,” said Doug Jensen of the Sea Grant Program.

If you have unwanted fish or reptiles, they can be taken to World of Fish in Hermantown or other pet stores across the Northland.
