Former Two Harbors Resident Running for Nolan’s Seat
Candidate had Been Working for FBI

DULUTH, Minn.-A 33-year-old Two Harbors native has announced she is seeking the DFL endorsement for Minnesota’s Eighth Congressional District.
Leah Phifer, who lives in Isanti, will be seeking out Rep. Rick Nolan’s seat.
She had previously worked for the FBI in the national security sector.
This past summer, she went on a district-wide listening tour of the community, traveling nearly 7,000 miles on her motorcycle.
“The DFL base in the district is hurting right now,” Phifer said. “We’re still healing from the 2016 election and now we’re faced with some significant proposals that are pitting people against one another.”
Some of the issues Phifer is concerned about include the two copper-nickel mines on the Iron Range, along with the Enbridge line 3 replacement project.
A campaign kick-off party will be held from 4-6 p.m. Oct. 15 at Carmody 61 in Two Harbors. To find out more about the candidate, visit this website: www.phiferforcongress.com.
