Superior Spartans Fight Cancer On and Off the Court

Head Coach Brenda Pluntz was diagnosed with a form of breast cancer in July.

SUPERIOR, WIS.- For the sixth-year the Superior Spartans joined the fight against breast cancer, hosting the “Dig for Pink” game, but this season the game took on a new meaning for the team.

Head Coach Brenda Pluntz was diagnosed with breast cancer in July but decided to coach through her treatments.

“I didn’t want it to effect the team unless it had to,” said Pluntz.

On Tuesday Pluntz coached in the team’s “Dig for Pink” game, celebrating the end of her radiation, an emotional moment for the coach and her players.
