Pet Photographer Looks to Capture More Clients

Pupparazzi Companion Pet Photography Started After Owner Lisa Johsnon Volunteered at Animal Allies Humane Society

DULUTH, Minn. – With the power of social media, animal pictures find a way to make many of us sink into our screens, begging for more.

Now, more and more pet parents are looking for more professional options to capture breathtaking images of their furry companions.

Fall is a typical time for scenic shots or graduation images.

“It’s always been a hobby of mine. Getting them to stay still is sometimes very difficult,” said Lisa Johnson, Owner of Pupparazzi Companion Animal Photography.

For Johnson it’s a time to capture candid moments.

“You are such a Momma’s Boy,” Johnson remarked while situating her own pups.

With precise positioning, she clicks away keeping preoccupied in her spare time.

“I started to realize a few years back if I didn’t find something to entertain myself I was going to become that creepy hangover my daughter’s
shoulder Mom,” said Johnson.

It all started when Animal Allies Humane Society in Duluth needed a volunteer to take pictures of adoptable animals.

“I just really enjoy taking picture of dogs. They never go, oh delete that, I look stupid or you know, pose in goofy ways,” said Johnson.

From there Johnson leapt into taking on clients.

“If you can capture them really being themselves, it’s just kind of magical,” said Johnson.

She chooses not to select a handful of images to share with clients, instead, Johnson shares all the shots with Mom and Dad, allowing them to
decide which pictures best fit their furry family members.

“To me having an animal photographed is, they’re part of the family,” said Johnson.

Pupparazzi Companion Pet Photography will be taking pictures at the annual Bark-Tober Festival and Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest happening Saturday, October 28 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Matilda’s Dog Bakery.

Johnson says if you would like to schedule a session with her it’s easiest to contact her on Facebook.
