Man Facing Drug and Child Neglect Charges


DULUTH, Minn. – The Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force arrested a 27-year-old man, identified as Datione Benjamin Warren, of Duluth, on Tuesday, Oct. 17 for probable cause charges of 2nd Degree Sale of a Controlled Substance, Child Endangerment, and Fleeing Police on Foot.

The arrest took place in the 2400 block of West 4th Street. According to the police report, investigators attempted to detail Warren when he fled on foot. After a brief foot chase, he was taken into custody. One investigator received minor injuries during the arrest.

During the execution of the search warrant, police report that investigators recovered heroin and cocaine packaged for sale and cash.

Warren was held at the St. Louis County Jail. On Friday, Oct. 20, Warren was formally charged in court with 2nd Degree Sale of a Controlled Substance in a School/Park/Public Housing Zone, 2 counts of Child Neglect, and Fleeing Police on Foot. His bail is set at $100,000.
