Northshore Mining to Get Big Money for New Facility

New Facility Won't Mean New Jobs

SILVER BAY, Minn.-Northshore Mining will be getting a huge upgrade in the near future.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland-Cliffs said they will invest $75 million dollars into the plant, so it can produce 2.4 million tons of hot briquette pellets that can be used in electric arc furnaces.

It’s not expected the new facility will create any more jobs, however.

It’s expected to be completed by 2019.

Cleveland-Cliffs also released their third quarter results today, which can be found on their website.
