Hermantown Marketplace District Looks to Expand

Sign Unveiled That's Expected to Highlight the Area to Businesses

HERMANTOWN, Minn. – The city of Hermantown is expanding their marketplace area near Haines Road and Miller Trunk Highway.

City officials unveiled a new Hermantown Marketplace sign in front of the Kwik Trip at Haines Road and Maple Grove Road.

They hope highlighting the area will get more businesses to move to Hermantown in the coming years.

“We’ve had a really good start with all the existing businesses that we’ve had in the marketplace and just hoping to expand on that in the years to come,” said Hermantown Community Development Director Eric Johnson.

“We’ve had some great people here with Fleet Farm coming in as well, getting a lot more people into Hermantown and just looking to expand on that energy that’s happened between those different types of buildings and companies that have come in,” said Johnson.

In 2018 and 2019, the city will expand sewer and water services south of Maple Grove Road with the hope of developing three hundred acres there.
