Power Outages Reported Throughout Region

Both Duluth and Iron Range Areas Hit With Power Outages

DULUTH, Minn.-Due to the fall’s first winter storm, power outages are being reported throughout the region.

As of 10 a.m., almost 3,600 customers in the Northland were without power. Crews are working to get it restored.

One of the biggest affected areas is the Endion/East Hillside neighborhood which has 1,600 customers without power. In Superior, 1,231 customers are being affected by the power outage. On the Iron Range, almost 200 are without power.

More than 2,000 Lake Country Power members were also without electricity. Those areas include Lake Vermilion, Ely, Orr, Crane Lake, Grand Rapids, and Kettle River. Many trees came down on the power lines there, which caused some of the outages.

Lake Country Power is now advising any members without power by 8 p.m., that they need to seek alternative areas to stay warm.  Crews then begin working again Saturday at 6 a.m.
