Police Investigating Shots Fired Early Saturday Near UMD

DULUTH, Minn. – An investigation is underway after shots were fired early Saturday morning near the University of Minnesota Duluth, according to Duluth Police.

According to authorities, police responded to the call regarding a house party in the 1300 block of 20th Avenue East just after midnight Saturday morning; police resolved the matter and departed the scene.

Around approximately 1 a.m. shots were fired at the same residence from the street. According to police, the incident was not reported until Saturday afternoon. No injuries have been reported as a result of this incident.

An initial investigation of the location revealed several bullets lodged into the home’s exterior and at least one shell casing. Police believe the incident was a result of an altercation at the house party earlier in the night.

According to police, no arrests have been made at this time.
