Ashland Teen Facing 16 Counts of Burglary

ASHLAND, Wis. – On Oct. 30 around 8:30 a.m., an Ashland resident reported a male attempting to break into his garage, according to the Ashland Police Department.

The suspect fled the scene and police canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.

Officers were able to obtain a photo of the suspect from a trail camera from the victim’s property.

According to authorities, an 18-year-old Ashland man was identified as the suspect in this incident and arrested on Oct. 31. He is currently being held at the Ashland County Jail awaiting formal charges.

The Ashland PD reports that after interviewing the suspect he admitted to numerous burglaries within the last six months and is now facing 16 counts of burglary.

The investigation is on going at this time and the suspect’s name is being withheld until he is formally charged, which is expected within the next few weeks.
