Language and Literacy at Duluth Children’s Museum

UMD's Communication Sciences and Disorder Department Put On Event

DULUTH, Minn- Language and literacy was another component kids could learn about at the Duluth Children’s Museum Friday.

UMD’s Communication Sciences and Disorder Department teamed up with the museum for a dragons, queens, kings and castles themed event to raise awareness about literacy, language, and speech.

Organizers looked to identify and address unmet needs in the community.

“It’s a great way for us to bring the really important issues of speech, language and literacy to the forefront while hosting this really great fun evening for all of the children in the Duluth area,” said Jolene Hyppa Martin, Assistant Professor, UMD.

Children were also offered free speech and language screening at the event.
