Holiday Letters Written to Military Service Members

UWS Students, Faculty, and Community Members Let Military Personnel Know They're Being Thought Of

SUPERIOR, Wis. – UWS students, faculty, and community members wrote holiday letters to military members .

The letters let veterans and active duty troops know they’re being thought of on the holiday, no matter where they’re stationed.

“Well you know everybody loves to get something in the mail but not everybody gets something,” said Scott Holmes, a UWS Student and a Success Coach at the University’s Veteran and Non-Traditional Student Center. “If you get an extra card it’s just a little jolt of holiday cheer.”

“UW-Superior, we have forty percent of our population is not traditional and/or veterans so it’s good we like to try and make it so people are communicating with each other and interacting and what not,” added Holmes.

The letters will be delivered by the American Red Cross.

UWS Veterans Week continues on Wednesday with an “Ask a Veteran” question and answer session.
