Local Craft Festival Gives Back to Northland

The Festival of Trees gives Northland shoppers an opportunity to donate.

DULUTH, Minn.-  The Festival of Trees offers something for everyone. It has become a staple holiday event in the Northland.

The event gives many local artists a place to show off and sell crafts. The Festival of Trees is the largest fundraiser for a local non–profit, the Junior League of Duluth.

Fox21 spoke to one vendor, with a similar business plan to give back to the community.

“Proceeds going towards things bigger than just myself,” Pieces of Lovely Artist Rebeccah Ahlrich said. “I started it where proceeds were going to mission trips and other organizations like that so this really encompassed the meaning of my shop.”

Many art pieces sold this weekend are specifically for Northlanders and displayed only during the Festival of Trees.
