New Parking App Comes to Duluth

DULUTH, Minn.-Parking at UMD or around town in Duluth is about to get a whole lot easier.

Now you can just use your smart phone to pay for metered parking.

Earlier today the city of Duluth announced a partnership with the university for a smartphone app that you can use to pay for parking.

The city says you’ll still be able to use quarters if you want, but those in charge say the added convenience of paying for street-side parking with your phone could lead to fewer parking tickets.

“It’s providing a convenience that we think people are beginning to expect, but we’re still relatively at the forefront for cities our size to get this technology implemented,” said Mark Bauer, parking operations specialist

The app is also designed to work seamlessly on campus at UMD.
