Police: Firearm Recovered In Morgan Park Believed To Be Connected To Weekend Shootings

Woman Shows Up In Hospital Reported Being Shot

DULUTH, Minn- Duluth Police investigators told Fox 21 that two separate shooting incidents over the weekend are connected to a gun incident in Morgan Park on Tuesday night. Police responded this evening to the area of 89th Ave W and Edward St. on reports of people in the neighborhood with guns.

Lt. Robert Shene said his officers did recover a gun at the scene. No word on any arrests, but he said that gun is believed to be connected to two other shooting investigations from this past weekend.

“Preliminarily it looks like we have some sort of the same people that were involved in two separate shooting instances this weekend. One with shots fired within the municipality during some type of argument. The other was where a woman was shot, non–life threatening injuries at a different location.” said Lt. Shene.

Lt. Shene said the first incident happened on the 100 block of West 4th St. The other shooting where a woman was shot happened at the Winwood Town Homes on the 800 block of Upham Road.

The investigation is very active. We’ll bring you more details when we get them.
