Duluth Man Charged After 3rd Investigation at Residence

DULUTH, Minn. – The Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force arrested a 24-year-old Duluth man on Monday, Nov. 13, after suspected drug activity at the residence.

According to authorities, a search warrant was executed in the 10 block of North 25th Ave W in Duluth. During the search, investigators recovered a handgun, rifle, rifle parts, ammunition, meth, heroin, drug paraphernalia, and stolen property.

Nathaniel Easterling, 24, was arrested on probable cause charges of Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person. Easterling was formally charged on Wednesday, Nov. 15, with two counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person. Bail has been set at $15,000.

Authorities report that this is the third search warrant the Task Force has executed on the residence in the past three years for both drug and firearm crimes.

At the time of the arrest, Easterling was on probation in St. Louis County following a conviction for Possession of a Sawed Off Shotgun and 3rd Degree Sale of a Controlled Substance. As a result of these convictions, Easterling is prohibited from possessing firearms.

Additionally, the City of Duluth Life Safety Division was contacted due to the condition of the residence.
