Northlanders Renovate Old Buildings

Old abandoned buildings in Two Harbors are being restored and filled.

TWO HARBORS, Minn.- Two Northland sisters are fixing up abandoned buildings, with hopes a small business will move in.

Sharon Erickson Ropes and her sister are doing their part to clean up Two Harbors. The sisters purchased a small building and are in the process of flipping it.

Ropes told FOX21 it’s exciting being on the first floor of restoration.

“I think just sometimes, somebody stepping in, and taking the first step to start renovating,” New Nest co-owner Sharon Erickson Ropes said. “Building is encouraging for other people.”

Multiple buildings in the area are currently undergoing restoration, and businesses are taking up the spaces.

Ropes believes Two Harbors is the perfect location for people to enjoy the North Shore.
