Arrest Warrant Issued for Suspect in Billings Park Shooting

UPDATE: Authorities are searching for a 24-year-old man suspected to be involved in a shooting that took place in the Billings Park neighborhood of Superior, Wednesday night.

A warrant has been issued by the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office for Edward Isaiah Austin, 24, for attempted homicide, according to Superior Police.

Austin should be considered armed and dangerous. He is described as a black male, 6′ tall and 154 pounds.

Austin was last known to be in the Twin Ports area on Thursday, Nov. 16. He has been known to drive a 2002 Dodge Caravan with Minn. plate 952MTV, but is suspected of stealing a silver 2013 Nissan Rogue with Minn. plate 729PHC from Doc’s Gym in Superior.

Anyone with information regarding Edward Austin’s location is asked to call 911 and give the operator as much information as possible.

SUPERIOR, Wis.-A Superior man was injured last night after being shot at point-blank range in a home in the Billings Park neighborhood.

The 29-year-old victim was said to be in a dispute at the residence at about 11:40 p.m. – he was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Superior Police Department said the victim is cooperating with the police department regarding the incident. It’s believed the victim and suspect knew each other.

No arrests have been made in the incident at this time, according to Matt Markon, assistant chief to the Superior Police.
