Lake Superior Ice Festival Preparations Underway
An estimated 3,000-5,000 people will attend the Festival.
SUPERIOR, Wis. – The 2018 Lake Superior Ice Festival is still about a week away, but workers are busy in Superior getting ready now.
Crews are getting the rinks prepared for the pond hockey tournament and clearing snow for the figure skating tournament.
The fun begins next Friday, Jan. 26 when thousands will make their way to the ice.
New games are some of the things you can expect this year.
“The kids zone will have indoor and outdoor elements. They’ll be at the Estuarium,” said Travel Superior Marketing Director Nikky Farmakes. “We’re going to have outdoor bands this year. We have a lot of cool characters coming. They’ll be in and out walking festival park.”
The Lake Superior Ice Festival runs January 26-28 on Barker’s Island in Superior.
