Local Curling Club Encourages Athletes of All Ages to Join

Active Adventures: Two Harbors Curling Club

TWO HARBORS, Minn. – For this week’s Active Adventures, FOX 21’s William Seay tried curling for the first time.

The morning crew drove up the North Shore to learn about the sport from curlers at the Two Harbors Curling Club.

Kay Libby, a club member who’s been curling since she was a teenager, says curling is a great lifetime sport.

Libby says the Two Harbors Curling Club offers a Kids Curl program for elementary aged students and a junior program. From there, curlers age all the way up to 80 years old.

Another club member, Kristianna Yecoshenko, recently competed in U-18 Nationals in Bemidji taking fifth place.

Yecoshenko ran Seay through some stretching exercises, explained form when throwing a stone and gave tips for sweeping.

Board Member Chris Camper says the club encourages people to start curling as early as they can, which is why the club offers so many options for age groups.
