AICHO Works to Rebuild Rooftop Garden

Leadership Duluth Asks Community to Sponsor AICHO Garden Beds

DULUTH, Minn. – The American Indian Community Housing Organization is growing its rooftop garden and is seeking donors.

The garden was removed last year as roof work was completed.

Now, as AICHO looks to move it back, it’s also expanding.

AICHO is focused on helping Native women with social issues impacting them such as domestic violence, housing, advocacy and cultural activities.

The garden is important to AICHO because its goal is to create an Indigenous learning and sharing space.

A group from Leadership Duluth is working with AICHO to help make this a reality.

They’re collecting materials to make new garden beds that can be sponsored by anyone in the community.

The group will build and install the beds, which is expected to cost $5,000.

Donation amounts are $100, $150, or $200 based on the size of the bed.
