UPDATE: Eel Pout Festival Death Ruled Accidental

An autposy is still pending and the incident remains under investigation.

WALKER, Minn. – The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled the death of Samuel Schooley, age 21, an accidental carbon monoxide poisoning.

On February 25 at about 8:50 a.m. the Cass County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an unresponsive male in a fish house at the Eel Pout Festival.

The victim was transported to the Park Rapids Hospital where he was pronounced deceased upon arrival.

An autopsy is pending with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The incident remains under investigation by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
