Florida Senate Passes Gun Legislation, Goes to Gov.

Florida bill will now go to Gov. Rick Scott who has 15 days to sign.

FLORIDA (AP) – The Florida House passed a school safety bill Wednesday that includes new restrictions on rifle sales and a program to arm some teachers.

The bill includes raising the age to purchase a firearm to 21 from 18, require a three day waiting period for firearm purchases, ban the sale or possession of bump fire stocks, give law enforcement more authority to seize weapons and ammo from those deemed mentally unfit or otherwise a threat, and provide additional funding for armed school resource officers and mental health services.
