Comedy Coming to NorShor Stage

Lend Me a Tenor Premieres Thursday

DULUTH, Minn. – This week a comedy is taking over the NorShor Theatre as performances of “Lend Me a Tenor” begin Thursday, April 5.

Performances will run through Sunday, April 15.

The comedy follows the Cleveland Grand Opera Company the night Tito Merelli, the world-famous Italian tenor (played by community artist, Jody Kujawa), is set to perform the starring role in the night’s production.

After a huge fight with his Italian wife, Maria (played by Playhouse newcomer, Jessica Saxton), Tito receives a double dose of tranquilizers through a series of mishaps.

Throw in an ambitious female co-star, a flirty head of the Opera Guild, a young nervous assistant (and secret tenor extraordinaire), and a meddling Bellhop, you have a recipe for comedic disaster.

Tickets are on sale online at norshortheatre.com, by calling 218-733-7555, or stopping by in person at the new Box Office located at the NorShor Theatre.
