Duluth’s Storm-Damaged Lakewalk Too Frozen For Cleanup

DULUTH, Minn.- The latest winter storm has caused the Lakewalk clean-up to be postponed after getting heavily damaged from a storm in October.

The city says crews are waiting for the layers and layers of ice built up to melt away.

Officials report some erosion from the recent storm but won’t be able to assess any further damage until it warms up.

The city is still working on planning, design, permitting and state funding coordination to fix the Lakewalk, which the city says will not occur until late summer or early fall at the earliest.
