Duluth Hosts First Paddlers and Rowers Week

DULUTH, Minn. – With seemingly endless fresh water available throughout the state of Minnesota, several Northlanders are passionate about human-powered watercraft sports.

This morning we learned more about the newly established Paddlers and Rowers Week.

It’s all to celebrate human-powered watercraft.

The fun starts on Saturday, June 2 with a “learn to row” event.

On Sunday, June 3 there will be opportunities to improve kayaking skills.

On Wednesday, June 6 there will be a press conference at the Duluth Rowing Club at 1 p.m.

Duluth Mayor Emily Larson will proclaim this week as Paddlers and Rowers Week in the Northland.

The public is invited to participate in all events.

Following Mayor Larson’s proclamation, kayak guides from The Duluth Experience will offer free mini–kayak tours.
