Local Officials Say Radigan Flowage Dam Likely to Fail

Motorists Should not Drive Through Flooded Roads

DULUTH, Minn. – According to the National Weather Service in Duluth and local law enforcement, the Radigan Flowage Dam west of Dairyland is likely to fail this afternoon.

If the dam breaks this will cause flash flooding downstream, as the Tamarack River flows towards the Saint Croix River.

Locations impacted include:

  • Town Road T west of Dairyland
  • Swedish Highway at the Tamarack River
  • Highway T west of Cozy Corner
  • Markville Road east of Markville

Local law enforcement is reminding motorists to “turn around, don’t drown” if they encounter flooded roadway conditions.

If you do encounter a flooded road please contact local law enforcement and do not drive through the flooded roadway.
