It’s important to remember homeowner’s insurance doesn’t cover flood damage.

“You can purchase just a little bit or you can purchase a lot or purchase up to the value you think you need or the bank requires,” said Micke. “Sometimes if you’re in a flood zone the bank’s going to require it.”
