Huskies Taking Part in Major League Dreams Showcase

The event allows players to show their skills in front of MLB scouts.

DULUTH, Minn. – Six Duluth Huskies are in action at the 2018 Major League Dreams Showcase.

The annual Showcase will consist of a double-header featuring the top players from the Northwoods League who were selected by a panel of Major League Baseball Scouts. The players will participate in a day of workouts in front of scouts which will be followed by the double-header.

Among the invitees are pitcher Troy Newell and second baseman Augie Isaacson who are looking forward to this special opportunity.

“It’s very exciting. Playing in front of 80 scouts is a lot of fun. You just try to play your game and play the best you can and play hard and that’s all you can really do. It’s a lot of fun for sure,” said Isaacson.

“It’s a good opportunity. As Augie was saying, there is probably going to be 80 scouts there which is pretty good to showcase myself to get out there and make a name for myself,” Newell said.

“To be able to have six players that they want to represent to get seen by major league scouts is awesome. It’s more than most teams in this league so it’s just a testament to the guys that we have,” said head coach Tyger Pederson.
