“Imagine Canal Park” Invites You for Music and Fun Through the Rest of the Month
The city is utilizing the space it has while they can.
DULUTH, Minn.- The trial running, known as Imagine Canal Park, made another and its final change before things go back to normal at the end of September.
In addition to the cross street in front of Little Angie’s, the parking lot across from Grandma’s restaurant was blocked off. In the lot, there is a sand box, tables and chairs and toys for kids to play with, all a part of the city’s plan to keep the area inviting to locals and tourists.
Many business owners in the area, like Lake Avenue Restaurant and Bar co-owner Derek Snyder, loves what it’s doing do the city.
“I think it’s great because basically it’s forcing some change and getting people to talk about it whether some ideas are better than other ideas. I think the point is basically let’s get the conversation going.”
Over the next couple of weeks, the city will be hosting music concerts in the roped off area, along with plenty of activities for kids including demonstrations from the children’s museum and zoo. A launch party for Imagine Canal Park will happen at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7.
