Regular Season Around the Corner for Wilderness
The Minnesota Wilderness will open their season next week.
CLOQUET, Minn. – The countdown is on for the Minnesota Wilderness who will open their season next week during the NAHL showcase.
The team is coming off another successful season, finishing third in the Central Division. After a summer of ironing out personell decisions, the Wilderness are ready to hit the ice for the games that matter.
“I think overall we’re pretty happy with the team we have. We had a couple of exhibition games after four or five days of practice. We definitely walked away from that thinking that we have quite a bit to work with so we felt pretty good about the roster so far,” general manager and head coach Dave Boitz said.
“Our forwards up front, we’re pretty deep. We’re going to be hard to play with. We’re a run-and-gun style team this year. We have some returning defense, too, but we have more returning forwards up front so we’re looking good. I’m glad that we won both games and I’m looking forward to the showcase,” said left winger Ashton Altmann.
