Up, Up and Away! Kickoff to Duluth Rising
DULUTH, Minn. – Friday kicks off Duluth rising what once was called the Hot Air Balloon Festival.
It’s a free and family friendly event at Bayfront Festival Park.
There will be a lot of activities to keep you all busy like the kite fly and Rising Stars Concert.
Hot air balloons are one of the main attractions but it all depends on the weather.
“What we’re really going to be concentrating on this weekend is just trying to get the balloons inflated, first of all. Just to get the inflations, we’re going to have the winds under 12 mph in very little gusts,” said Kern and Company President Ryan Kern. “So as long as it doesn’t matter which direction the wind is blowing, just to be able to get the balloons inflated is a big deal for us.”
You’ll also have a chance to go on a balloon ride in the morning or late in the afternoon.
Duluth Rising is Friday and Saturday.
