DECC to Host Free Pop-Up Play Event Saturday, January 5

The Inaugural Free Pop-Up Play Event is Open to the Public

DULUTH, Minn. – The Duluth Entertainment Convention Center is set to host its first ever free Pop-Up Play Event on Saturday, January 5.

Community members are invited to enjoy equipment contributed by local organizations geared for families with children aged eight and under.

The event will provide children a morning of unstructured physical and mental play in a warm, safe indoor space to break that cabin fever.

Vendors:

•3 Owls Outdoor Play Consultants
• Duluth Area YMCA
• Duluth Public Library
• Lauralloons Balloon Art and Entertainment
• Legacy Toys
• Kickstarters Soccer
• UMD Mascot Champ

A quiet room will also be available with chairs, books, and quieter play items for children and families seeking a less-stimulating space or calm atmosphere.

“Our mission at the DECC is to be a steward of our community and of our building. We are excited to invite local families to play indoors in the Lake Superior Ballroom as a unique activation of this space,” states Chris Johnson, Marketing Coordinator for the DECC.

Entry into the Pop-Up Play Event is free.

Parking at the DECC is $5 per vehicle.

Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase at the event.
