Juvenile in Custody for East Hillside Shooting Incident

Authorities are Still Investigating the Incident

DULUTH, Minn. – Duluth Police have arrested a 16-year-old male, from Duluth, in connection to the February 1 East Hillside shooting incident.

According to police the male was arrested on Friday at approximately 2:30 p.m. without incident.

The male is currently being held awaiting formal charges at the Arrowhead Juvenile Detention Center.

Earlier this month Duluth police responded to a traffic accident with reported injuries at the intersection of 10th Avenue East and 3rd Street.

When officers arrived on the scene they were informed that the rear seat passenger had been shot.

According the Duluth Police Department, the incident happened when the victim and suspect were riding in the back seat of the car together. The shooter then fled the scene following the shooting.

The gun shot victim was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The victim was released from the hospital a few days after the shooting.

Authorities say this is still an active investigation. We will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
