Maria Bamford Returns to Duluth
Maria Bamford performed in Duluth Sunday night
DULUTH, Minn.- One of Hollywood’s well known comedians was in Duluth Sunday evening. Maria Bamford performed live at the NorShor Theatre in Downtown Duluth.
Bamford, who was raised in Duluth, is coming off her latest Netflix series, ‘Lady Dynamite’ and is getting back to what she loves most, live stand-up comedy.
When her fans in Duluth found out she was coming back to the city she grew up in, the show quickly sold out and prompted Bamford to add a second performance for Monday night.
Her sister Sarah, and father Joel are very proud of all she’s done in her career. “We’re blown away, but she works real hard at it and we see what she does everyday”. “It’s cool to see duluth embrace her and say yeah we are selling out these shows and people are super stoked about it”.
Bamford truly defines what small city living, to big life Hollywood dreaming is all about. From here in Duluth, to going all over the world doing comedy.
Bamford was first noticed during her first feature film ‘Lucky Numbers’ back in 200, before going on her first comedy tour in 2003. Since then, Bamford has appeared in two other comedy tours along with voicing many characters on Catdog, American Dad, and Bojack Horsemen to name a few. Bamford has also done film work in Stuart Little 2, and Charlotte’s Web 2.
Jodi Broadwell, a big Bamford fan, says she “loves that Maria’s from Duluth, and I love her work so we are just super excited to be here”.
Unfortunatley, Monday’s show at the NorShor is also sold out, but her tour continues with the next stop in the states coming in March in Chicago.
