Multiple school referendums and a primary for a county board seat are happening in the Northland tomorrow.

The primary will feature six candidates vying for the District 5 St. Louis County commissioner seat which represents Hermantown, Proctor, and Rice Lake.

The candidates are: Wayne Boucher, Keith Macdonald, Keith Musolf, Kal Randa, Timothy Herstad, and Robert Wagner.

Up on the Iron Range voters in Eveleth-Gilbert and Virginia will decide on whether to combine their two high schools while also making upgrades to elementary schools in that region.
The Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board voted in February to recommend dedicating about $100 million toward those projects while Iron Range tax payers and the state would have to pony up about $80 million.

Over in Wrenshall voters will face off against another referendum to decide on an increase in property taxes there for a $14 million remolding project for their schools which would include a new gym and indoor air quality improvements.

Annual taxes would go up about $300 on a $150,000 home beginning in 2020 and go for 20 years.

We’ll have the latest results tomorrow at 9 p.m.
