Saints’ Sande Named UMAC Pitcher of the Year, Kemp Earns COY Honors

The UMAC announced their end-of-the-season awards Tuesday afternoon.

DULUTH, Minn. – St. Scholastica’s Jake Sande was named Pitcher of the Year and Corey Kemp was named Coach of the Year, the UMAC announced today.

Sande made six appearances in conference play, picking up wins in five of those. During the regular season, Sande had a 0.00 era, allowing just one unearned run and held opponents to a .184 average. He gave up just 19 hits and struck out 13.

Kemp led his Saints to a 14–2 conference record that gave them the UMAC regular season title. CSS led the conference in almost every offensive category. Kemp also earned his 300th win this season.
