UMD Hosts Fit-N-Fun Run

Thousands of students laced up their shoes at Malosky Stadium today

DULUTH, Minn.- Students laced up their shoes, stretched out their legs, and got to enjoy the beautiful weather today at UMD during the annual fit and fun run.

Two thousand third, fourth, and fifth graders from Duluth Elementary Schools ran a lap around the school’s Stadium in celebration of their hard work put forth in their physical education classes. Once completed the kids received a ribbon and t-shirt.

Mandi Peterson, Marketing & Public Relations Director for Grandma’s Marathon says “we continue to put on programs like this because of that constant encouragement, that constant keeping kids active. It’s really important because hopefully it starts when it’s this age and it continues throughout their lifestyle”.

The event was sponsored by Grandma’s Marathon and Essentia Health has been running since 2008.
