Donations Needed During Art Supply Drive in Duluth

The Art Supply Drive is Happening Through August 30

DULUTH, Minn. – When it comes to providing students with essential art materials, it can quickly become expensive.

Thankfully there’s a group in Duluth looking to help make a difference during the annual Art Supplies 4 Kids fundraising drive.

For the second year, the Downtown Duluth Arts Collective (DDAC) is partnering with Art for Ed’s Sake (A4ES), to collect and raise money for art supplies to benefit Duluth Public School students in their art classes throughout the school year.

This year’s Art Supplies 4 Kids (AS4K) Drive is hoping to exceed supplies collected during the 2018 drive.

The drive is happening through August 30, culminating with the Downtown Duluth Arts Walk, also on August 30.

Donations of physical art supplies may be dropped off at Arts Walk locations during the month of August.

In addition, financial donations may be placed in the brightly colored red/yellow/blue cube donation boxes bearing the AS4K logo at Arts Walk locations, or made online through Zeitgeist.

Art Supplies 4 Kids (AS4K) Drive started in September 2018, a partnership between the Downtown Duluth Arts Collective (DDAC) and Art for Ed’s Sake (A4ES).

A4ES is the local nonprofit created by public school visual arts educators to raise funds to further support art education and visual literacy for students in Grades K through 12. In addition to the supply drive, A4ES hosts a yearly benefit to support K-12 visual and media arts education, and is instrumental in producing the Annual Duluth Public Schools Student Art Exhibition at Miller Hill Mall.
