UMD Opens A U.S. Passport Office On Campus

Services are provided by appointment only.

DULUTH, Minn. – If you’re looking for another option to get your passport, UMD now has a U.S. passport facility on campus.

A grand opening was celebrated on Monday.

Students, staff, and the public can use the facility to fill out an application and take a passport photo.

Without this new service, UMD officials tell us getting a passport would typically require multiple trips to the post office or other businesses to gather the proper documents, which create a barrier for students.

“We have about 300 students that study abroad every year. It’s often difficult for students that live on campus to get all they need to get a passport taken care of. Now they can get it all done right here on campus,” said International Programs Specialist Cathy Caine.

The UMD passport office is located in the Kirby plaza.

Services are provided by appointment only.
