Black Friday Shoppers Take Over Stores

Eager shoppers filled their arms with items getting their biggest bang for their buck

DULUTH, Minn.- J.C. Penney was one of the first places to open this shopping season. The store opened Thursday afternoon, and it’s scheduled to stay open until Friday night at 10 p.m.

Eager shoppers filled their arms with items, getting the biggest bang for their buck searching for holiday gifts for their loved ones. Even though Black Friday is just a two day event, the manager of J.C. Penney tells us planning starts well in advance.

“Interesting enough is that we actually start planning a year in advance and really go into detail probably six months and then three months from the actual day that’s when we really start getting everything set and signed and prepared for such a big huge weekend”, said Amy Bjerklie.

One of the shoppers there, worked in the retail business for 31 years, now enjoys the Black Friday holiday from a shoppers standpoint.

“Well because I’m not in the store everyday working, I have to come and by my family and this is a great time to do it. Great prices, and I usually try to drag a couple of them with me to get some ideas and get it done”, said Maggie Alander.

If you are putting off Black Friday shopping, and hoping the crowds die down, J.C. Penney will be open Saturday at 10 a.m. for you to get those discounted deals.
