Duluth Youth Strike for Climate Change

Students strike with youth around the world to demand action on Climate Change.

DULUTH, Minn.- Young people in Duluth rallied with youth around the world holding a strike to raise awareness of Climate Change.

Students with Duluth Youth Climate Strike posted up in front of City Hall to demand legislative action, and draw attention to the issue.

They said it’s important that youth continue to stand up, as climate scientists have said there are only 11 years left to fix the effects of Climate Change.

According to the organizer, they want the city to know they will continue their fight.

“That we won’t stop,” Chapter Lead Harper Glisczinski said. “I think that this is something that needs to be repeatedly reinforced in our community and then we can spread it throughout other communities.”

“And by continuously doing these strikes and coming back we’re showing that this really is an important issue.”

The group follows the example of Swedish activist Greta Thunberg, who sat in front of Swedish Parliament every Friday to demand more action on Climate Change.
