Two Injured in Carlton County Train Accident

CARLTON COUNTY, Minn. – A 41-year-old woman and 10-year-old boy were taken to the hospital after an accident involving a car and a train.

According to the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 1:30 p.m. Saturday on E. Stark Road in Thompson Township.

Emergency Medical Services from the Esko Fire Department and Cloquet Area Fire District responded to the scene.

The two patients were transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. The sheriff’s office has not received updates on their condition.

The accident is under investigation and the names of the patients are being withheld pending family notification.
